While I agree that a car brand sponsorship is not the right cultural or vibe fit for the sport or many of its athletes, the flights that many runners and their crews -- especially the American ones -- will take to get to Chamonix will have the biggest climate impact by far of any activity associated with the event. I'd like to see athletes and sponsors tackle that with sustainable flying options and alternative transport where available.

One would presume any money was good money for UTMB. And guess this deal will be short-lived due to the negative message going out. And because Dacia cars don't exist outside of a few countries in Europe, I'm not sure how sponsoring a global event would provide good marketing value.
So how about McDonalds as title sponsor? We could really have fun with that ... "You deserve a break today", etc.
